21 Settlements received almost 562 million HUF development support in frame of the complex increased accessibility program which was announced in 2009 and ended last year by the Danube-Mecsek Regional Development Foundation. The organisers of the program and the project developers summarised their experiences related to the program in a conference. On behalf of the main supporter, Vegar Andreassen the First Secretary of the Norwegian Royal Embassy was also present on the event, which was held in Paks on the 25 of February in 2011.

The joint funded increased accessibility program realized with the cooperation of the Danube-Mecsek Regional Development Foundation and the European Economic Area & NorwegianFinancialMechanism. 60 settlements of Baranya, Bács-Kiskun, Pest and Tolna counties could participate on the 3 round tender. The tender was launched by the Danube-Mecsek Regional Development Foundation in order to support and incite the increased accessibility of buildings in local government institutions, local civil organizations, associations, public benefit companies and enterprises. The majority of the amount, which was submitted to the settlements, was formerly also awarded from the fund of the European Economic Area and the NorwegianFinancialMechanism by the Danube-Mecsek Regional Development Foundation.

Within the confines of the program the applicants could apply for complex increased accessibility transformation, which provides equal access to the public services for disabled, hard of hearing and deaf, visually impaired and blind, mentally challenged, autistic and multiply disabled persons. 38 applications were submitted, 26 of them were supported in a value of 561 478 795 HUF in total. Among the supported applicants we can find medical offices, schools, rest homes and mayor's office as well. The complete list of the winners can be found on the web page of the foundation.

The foundation organised a program closing conference on Friday, 25 of February 2011 in order to summarize the results and experiences of the tender.
