By spring 2010, public institutions of 60 communities could become accessible for disabled people. The Foundation won HUF 550 000 000 grant by submitting application to the EEA & Norwegian Financial Mechanisms, and supplemented that with its own resources.
The Implementation agreement was signed on 9 January 2009, in the presence of Siri Ellen Sletner, the Kingdom on Norway's Ambassador to Hungary. The document was signed by deputy chairman Vilmos István Kovács on behalf of National Development Agency (NFÜ), and by the chairman of the Foundation's Advisory board Dr István Kocsis, on behalf of the Danube-Mecsek Regional Development Foundation. Members of Parliament from the regions covered by the Foundation's activity, including Dr Katalin Szili, the Chairwoman of the Parliament of the Republic of Hungary, were also present in the signing ceremony. In her speech, Norway's ambassador pointed out that the objective of the application is to provide equal opportunities for all members of the society. She spoke highly of the enormous efforts the Paks Nuclear Power Plant does through the foundation it had established and supported, for the well-being of the people in the industrial plant's environment.
